Theta Galaxy of the Clan Star Adder Touman is a rapid deployment unit composed of Assault, Dragoon and Hussar Clusters and a Keshik Binary.
As the only bid force allowed during the initial Clan invasion of the Inner Sphere (under bid contract to Clan Smoke Jaguar), Theta Galaxy represents the best of the Home-World Clans.
Welcome to the Smoke Adders' website.
The Smoke Adders are a unit of casual and competitive players who have played a variety of MW/BT related games competitively since as early as 1996.
We consider ourselves a "no drama" unit, meaning we do our level best to let our actions speak louder than our words and don't tolerate disrespectful behavior from our ranks. On an internet full of "l33t pl4yers" we do our best to distance ourself from trash talk, nonsense arguments and just negativity in general.
In competitive play we strive to win at all (legal) costs and to play in a disciplined manner. It's a team sport and no amount of individual talent can really change that....so we expect members to harness their best efforts and fight hard within the team when we drop in formal competition.
In casual play, we just play to have fun. No leadership requirements, no Mech requirements, no specified weapon systems etc. Run what you want to have fun in and enjoy the drops with our group.
We do have a "chain of command" but as a group of adult gamers, it's not about unit discipline or tactical training (although we do practice regularly). CoC members are primarily organizers for the unit, arbiters of disputes between members or between units and the driving force in directing our competitive/community warfare efforts. That being said, our full (Blooded) Members always get a say in facets of our game organization and courses of action.
Lastly, due to the current Community Warfare guidelines illustrated by PGI (Developers for MWO), we intend to "role play" our unit as a non-canon (meaning never written of in the source books/novels) Clan Star Adder unit that was "bid" into one of the Invading Clans (see Clan Hells Horses for a similar act in canon as precedent for this), as a way for CSA to be involved in the invasion informally.
We acknowledge as a matter of canon record that CSA never formally involved itself in the Invasion and won't try to represent ourselves as THE Clan Star Adders. We will however keep our CSA identity intact.
Historical side note, each of the Clusters in the Touman are based on Airborne Infantry Regiments from Earth's history and make nods to the Paratrooper lineage in the Cluster names and designations.
373rd "Winged Vipers" are based on the 3rd Squadron, 73rd Airborne Reconaissance Regiment, a unit nicknamed the "Thunderbolts" that is Headquartered at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as part of the 82nd Airborne Division. This Cluster competes at the highest level for the Touman in ranked competitive play.
173rd "Sky Fangs" Cluster is based on the 173rd Airborne Brigade of the United States stationed in Vincenza Italy as a strategic response force for European and African theaters. The unit has a long and storied history as an internationally partnered force, utilized as a quick reaction force in the Pacific in the WWII era. This Cluster competes at the 2nd highest level for the Touman in ranked competitive play.
505th "Silent Death" Assault Cluster is based on the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment (the "Panthers" of the 82nd Airborne Division). The winged-black panther on the unit's crest is often credited as the origination of the "Silent Death" by airborne assault paratrooper units are sometimes known by as they slip silently to the ground and erupt in martial violence. This Cluster fights at the Entry level for the Touman in ranked competitive play and is a great jumping off point for people unsure of their time commitment, or simply wanting to try out competitive/ranked play for the first time. It is anchored by veteran players of the unit.
502nd "Strike Dragoons" Cluster is based on the 502nd Infantry Regiment, originally instituted as an Airborne unit in WWII, now a part of the infamous 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The Strike Brigade, as the 502nd is currently known has maintained a storied history over the years in it's own right, and the Cluster represents those of the Touman who do not partake in ranked/competitive play but do aspire to represent the Smoke Adders in quick play, faction play etc.
SCPT Xylog: 505 last match videos are up in 505 vid Sheets
SCom Therax: SA discord team when?
SCom Therax: we got heat bug in a comp match
DGC aidenmpryde: The TS server is back up.
DGC Cyphersphere: A bad fiber break in the area took out the service to the TS server. Cell service was restored not long ago. If the ETR is accurate, It should be back up in a few hours.

SCPT Donny Line Z: good luck guys
BW CptJudas: Lets Judas
DGC madcat3050: 373 match is tonight so be ready.

DGC madcat3050: PM out 373 for scrim/next match
SCom Therax: I would be down for the Xylog, as long a Taragoto, NavidA1, and their crew were the ones making the suggestions to PGI.
SCPT Xylog: lol, there should a 'pay for fix' fundraiser. AKA If fixed we pay this much. Don't pay till it happens. Should get a list of issues ( specific list) and create a fund pool per fix, People donate into a fund and it is given to PGI when done
SCPT Xylog: The way i see it, $15-20 a mth to get together with you guys is worth it. Warts and all. Doesnt have to be a all or nothing
SCPT Xylog: Not paying till they 'fix' it will mean death to the game as they will never 'fix' it . once they 'fix' it to a level then there will be other bitching about the 'fix'.
SCom Therax: I was interested in buying the Blood Asp pack last year, until I saw PGI's response to the community balance document was a 'lol nope'. The end was inevitable after that.
DGC madcat3050: @Myj counter argument is I can't give them money if they don't fix it/ make it worse :/
BW Myj: I'm always treated MWO as a $20/month subscription anyway. If they go that route I'll just continue that as I always have. Can't play for free if you want the game to stick around.
