each to their own man, not saying youre stupid etc for OC'ing, just for me it makes no sense unless performance is just too low.
(Jun 07, 2018)
and hell the only reason I upgraded the GF's computer is because she was using my old cpu before my 4790k...whcih was a dual core processor at like 2.7GHz. lol

nonsense
(Jun 07, 2018)
I only overclock CPU's when im no longer satisfied with performance. to me OC is akin to having a 800 HP car. utterly useless most of the time, bragging rights aside.

I'd probably try to OC the 2600k before I upgraded tbh if youre not happy with FPS. Im a cheapsnek IRL too. the i5 I speak off I built for the GF. I still run a 4790k, it pulls great FPS imo.

I've OC's my cpus forever, and never had issues. Even if they last 6 years insterad of 10m who cares?

@revis. It is mostly for the skill tree

Still out for a while. Remodel has my office blocked for a few more weeks at the rate things are progressing. Got wireless from time to time but not enough to get serious play in. Have fun Sneks...

You are correct Lukoi. Once you are over 3.2 and into i5's its very little to no gain for the avg user. Just make sure you get something with 16GB of RAM and a decent CPU at 3.5 or higher out of the box.

Why do we need profiles for stock mechs? You cant change them?
(Jun 07, 2018)
June roadmap: changes to single heat sink and profile saving and sharing. Changes to help with stock mode...

and I get plenty of FPS in all games. the GPU seems to be the key to that, less so the CPU
(Jun 07, 2018)
well I'm running a i7-2600K and it's time for an upgrade :)
(Jun 07, 2018)
You dont need 5ghz to play FPS. I run an i5 at 3.8 and my older 4790k at 4.2 they both get the same frames in PUBG and MWO
(Jun 07, 2018)
Over clocking that much with an air cooler is bad idea Honestly. YOU wont get the full lifetime out of it.
(Jun 07, 2018)
the 8600 ocs to 5 ghz and thats what u need for fps play and still has cors to encode if u want to intel still best gamer chip
(Jun 07, 2018)
Something like this to cool it - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608045

(get the K and OC the bitch ;) )
(Jun 06, 2018)
yea im leaning towards Intell but want to exhaust all options.
(Jun 06, 2018)
if you dont oc, the 8600 has the advantage of cheaper mb
