that 8600k is pretty much the best bang for the buck even still because the clock freq is so high
(Jun 06, 2018)
the last cpu i built...which was Christmas I went 8600K. It runs like a dream.
(Jun 06, 2018)
ah, sorry I know nothing about that specific model.
(Jun 06, 2018)
personally I prefer intel these days. The cost advantage has largely been erased. I used to be a die hard AMD guy, but as the price gap has closed up...intel for me now.

like heat problems, power issues, other stuff
(Jun 06, 2018)
Thanks Skin. I used that earlier to see the 2700X vs the 8700K and the 7820X from Intel, but figured I'd ask around if someone knew something other than benchmarks etc.

take a poke around there lukoi. dont take it for gospel, but it helps lay out speeds etc etc for comparisons.

Stock Mech Lobby sessions set for next week, sign up under events!

Thanks eta0h, but that article is talking about the 1700, not the 2700X. I'm not gonna wait for the 8606k (prob cannot afford that anyway), so looking for potential pitfalls with this new Ryzen 7 card.

which is MOST games
(Jun 06, 2018)
"The Intel Core i7-8700 has a much higher stock frequency and better IPC, which will help on most games that only use a few cores"
(Jun 06, 2018)
it likely won't matter that much to be honest, I prefer Intel because they typically consume less power.
(Jun 06, 2018)
Intel is ALWAYS a better choice over AMD if immediate money isn't a factor

*vice
(Jun 06, 2018)
Any reason I shouldn't consider a ryzen 2 2700x vive an Intel chip?
